Alpinestars' lightest autonomous Airbag System, Tech-Air® 3, is designed to be worn over or under the motorcycle jacket, making it an effective and practical choice for touring riders, urban city commuters, and light off-road adventure riders.

Alpinestars' crash detection triggering algorithm, developed and refined through over 2 million kilometers of riding data and more than 2,000 crashes, allows the system to accurately assess when to deploy the airbag ahead of an impact or in dangerous situations such as a lowside or highside crash. Should Tech-Air 3® detect the start of a crash, it activates the protective airbag in milliseconds, with the activation time depending on the airbag's size. Once inflated, the airbag provides full upper body protection by uniquely covering the rider's entire chest and back, ensuring safety for motorcycle riders.

The state-of-the-art, wearable Tech-Air® System utilizes the Tech-Air® 5 Street crash detection algorithm, leveraging A.I. to accurately monitor when to deploy the airbag in the event of a crash. Tech-Air® 3 incorporates six integrated sensors (three accelerometers, including one triaxial accelerometer, and three gyroscopes, including one triaxial gyroscope) to provide optimal crash monitoring performance and active airbag protection across a variety of dynamic street riding scenarios, including while stopped.

An LED display on the front chest indicates the airbag's operational status. This display also features a haptic alert that vibrates to confirm the system is armed and to alert the rider when the battery is low.

Bluetooth connectivity to the Tech-Air® app allows monitoring of the system's operational status, battery status, and analysis of your ride, including plotting your route on a map.

The Tech-Air® 3 vest can be worn both over and under a motorcycle jacket, including any Alpinestars-compatible jacket, as well as any leather or textile jacket, provided that the jacket has sufficient space to accommodate the airbag system.
